キゴマ地区のコーヒー

キゴマ（Kigoma）地域はタンザニア西部、タンガニーカ湖沿岸の高地に位置し、アラビカ種コーヒーの主要生産地の一つです。

キゴマ地域のコーヒー生産は主に小規模農家によって担われており、コーヒーは地域の主要な現金収入源であり、農家の世帯収入の約39%を占めています。
この地域のコーヒーは、柑橘系のフルーティーな風味や爽やかな酸味、バランスの良いコクが特徴です。

2000 年頃から NGO や政府機関がこの地域のコーヒー栽培に力を入れ始め、現在では品質重視の輸出業者ドーマン社がそのあとを引き継ぎ、開発を行っています。

カンヨブAMCOS

キゴマ地区の中核を担うカンヨブAMCOS（Kanyovu Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society）は、キゴマ地域を代表するコーヒー生産者協同組合です。

地域の農家の所得向上や品質管理、持続的な農業発展に大きく貢献し、中央パルパリーによる品質向上と市場アクセスの強化、組合員への利益還元など地域農業のモデルケースとなっています。
